The flag of Durazno, Uruguay, features a blue background with a prominent twelve-pointed star at its center, symbolizing the department's central position within the country. Surrounding this central star are eighteen smaller six-pointed stars arranged in a circle, representing the other eighteen departments of Uruguay. Within the central star, a lamp is depicted, signifying light, energy, and hope for the future. Two light blue stripes run horizontally across the flag, symbolizing the Yí and Negro rivers that border the department. Designed by architect Andrés Martínez Bruno, the flag was adopted on October 12, 2000, commemorating the 179th anniversary of Durazno's founding.
